Named in honor of her beloved departed yellow labrador, Cabot Kennels is owned and operated by Sue Meachem, with a lot of help from her husband, Doug McCrae.  Although a relative newcomer to the field spaniel world, Sue is no stranger to dogs, having owned and trained dogs for most of her life.  She and Doug have owned both golden and labrador retrievers, and have raised several as Guiding Eyes dogs.

It was the fortunate coincidence of working with Lori Carver that introduced Sue to field spaniels, eventually becoming the proud owner of Jada (AKC/UKC GRCH, Can CH Seabreeze The Secret Storm RN CGC).  Finding that she enjoyed both owning and handling, Sue took her place with Jada in the show ring, receiving awards in both conformation and rally.  Jada's show ring success is being continued by her daughter Ch Hanna (Cabot N Seabreeze Project Runway), and her son Bob (AKC/UKC Ch Cabot N Seabreeze Night Train to Wicksford).

In addition to her dog handling skills, Sue is also an accomplished seamstress, who enjoys making snoods for her field spaniels.  She sells her snoods at shows, and will gladly ship them if asked.  For more information about snoods, or to see some samples, click here.
